User Rights & Access to Info
All information that we have collected is available in our database of contacts. For users who registered on GO-Trade e-commerce platform all information is available online in your account and you may access such information at any time by logging in to your account through our website.
In relation to your personal data, you have the followings rights, as mentioned below:
a. Information that you can access. Examples of information you can currently access easily at Amazon.ca include up-to-date information regarding recent orders, personally identifiable information [including name, e-mail, password, communications preferences, address book, and settings], payment settings [including credit card information, gift certificate, gift card, and check balances], e-mail notification settings, Wish Lists, and recommendations.
b. Requesting access. You may request access to personal information that GO has about you. Such requests must be made in writing to our privacy officer using the contact information provided below. We require certain identification information be provided so that we can verify your identity. If you believe that the information, we have in our records is incorrect, you can request that a correction be made. GO may refuse access and/or corrections to personal information where required or permitted by law.
c. Request correction or update of the personal data that we have with us about you. This enables us to correct or update any incomplete or inaccurate data we have about you. However, we may need to verify the accuracy of the corrected or updated data provided to us by you, to secure the data and comply with our data accuracy policies
d. Request to delete the personal data. You may request to delete or remove personal data where there are no reasons for us processing that data. However, in special cases we may not be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
e. Objection regarding processing your personal data. Where we are relying on a legitimate interest and there is something about your particular situation that makes you want to object processing on this ground if you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedom.
f. Request restriction of processing your personal data. In such circumstances that you have successfully made a request for restriction of your personal data, we will suspend the processing of your personal data—where you wish to cancel all services and close your accounts; or where you are challenging the accuracy of the personal data we hold, and where you may want to exercise or defend legal claims when we would normally delete or anonymize the data.
g. Withdraw Consent. You may withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information by GO at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. In certain circumstances, your withdrawal of consent will result in the inability of the Operator to continue providing aspects of the Site and the Service to you. Please contact GO for more information regarding the implications of withdrawing consent.
h. Unsubscribe / Opt-out. Where you have opted-in or subscribed such communications for our products or services and no longer wish to receive commercial electronic messages from GO regarding our new products or services, promotions or other similar communications, you may unsubscribe here. Please note that, after you unsubscribe, the operator may still send electronic communications to you in certain limited circumstances, such as to provide you with Site and Service notifications and billing information, or to provide information that the Operator is legally obligated to provide you. Personal information provided to subscribe to our commercial electronic messages is stored in Canada. You will be bound by the privacy policies of these third-party sites.
i. Other Data Protection Rights. In relation to your personal data, you also have the right to object in relation to direct marketing. You may also make an objection to use your personal data for direct marketing purposes. We will stop sending you such communications. There are several situations when you can restrict our use of your personal data, if you have made a general objection based on the provisions above mentioned, if you are reassuring the accuracy of the personal data we have in our database, and we have used your personal data improperly, but you do not want deletion. You can also file a complaint to the data protection regulation body, as you also have the right to complain about how we have used your personal data.
